Our Favorite Tweets of Gen Con 2014

Gen Con is a tabletop gamers paradise. From Thursday to Sunday attendees are treated to hours of roleplaying, meeting designers, testing prototypes and oodles and oodles of game releases. We unfortunately did not attend this year and scoured twitter looking for our favorite tweets, pictures and news. Here are our favorites:

This Giant Game of Carcassone:

New X-Wing Wave of Miniatures Revealed:scum x wing

Make room in your tacklebox, you’ll want this sixth wave of x-wing miniatures. This next wave is called Scum and Villainy which will introduce an official third faction to the mix which includes all the bounty hunters, mercenaries and those outside the law. Read more about the details of these expansions on Fantasy Flight’s website.

Fantasy Flight Also Revealed a New Star Wars Game:

We spent the weekend at home getting caught up on games we still needed to play and were envious of you all who enjoyed 4 days of gaming. Thankfully, a handful of other gamers were in the same situation and shared their 4 days of fun outside of Gen Con hilariously named #GenCant2014 on twitter. This hashtag began as a joke and evolved into a contest full of gaming prizes for the best tweet and photo. We saw a lot of entries that made us laugh and helped us get through the weekend outside of Indianapolis.

Wave 2 of Funko MtG Planeswalkers:

Our Liliana Vess won’t be lonely on the shelf for long. This next wave will include Elspeth, Nicol Bolas and many others.

X Files the Board Game by IDW Games:

Colt Express Prototype:

Gaming on a 3D board?! I can’t wait to see more of this game and more like it.

Cones of Dunshire is Now an Actual Game:

Congrats to the Ennies Winners!

Many of our favorite designers, publishers and games received awards during the Ennies this past weekend. Congrats to all of you! Here are the winners.
