Fund It Friday! December 9th
This is kind of the slow time on Kickstarter and I didn’t see many campaigns that interested me that I hadn’t already mentioned. If you have any favorites that I missed, please let me know! We have a grand total of 3 campaigns on today’s FIF article but each project brings a strong theme, beautiful graphics and interesting gameplay to the table:
The World Council is a semi-cooperative card game where players represent different countries on a secret council. Players will be trying to win the game by successfully completing their objective, while preventing their opponents from completing their own goals. All the while, players collectively will be preventing world-ending events and keeping global peace. The world is not static either, as players will be actively building and shaping their economies and worlds while trying to prevent a shortage of resources that could lead to widespread disasters. The World Council will bring a tense game with asymmetrical play and tough choices.
Andoria grabbed my attention for its vivid anime art style and high-fantasy characters in a Dominion meets Magic the Gathering card game. Players will start the game with a basic deck of cards and build a stronger resistance by buying tactics, hiring heroes and other cards. Players are all racing to be the first person to do a certain number of damage. Other players are never weakened or lose life. A unique feature I liked from Andorra is the Kindgom card where players can spend resources to use that Kindom’s ability. Also the hero characters level up throughout the game and become increasingly more badass as shown by their evolution across 3 different cards.
Travel in an ice cream truck to different planets and collect sets of weaponized ice cream to defeat your enemies. Yes. Weaponized ice cream! Robots Love Ice Cream is a silly game that families and friends can play together. As different robots, players are working together to collect purple Boomsicles and more to use them against the evil robots helping an evil scientist hoard all the ice cream in the galaxy!! As a foodie who loves food-themes in games, I wholeheartedly approve of the ice cream-focused objectives and resources. Fun fat: Robots Love Ice Cream is also based on the video game franchise of the same name.
I hope you enjoyed this list of tabletop games and products that we are currently obsessing over on Kickstarter. If you have a Kickstarter you think we should cover, please let us know in the comments or contact us on Facebook and Twitter. Please consider supporting or sharing these campaigns with friends to help these games meet their goal. We’ll be back with another Fund It Friday article next week!
