Fund It Friday! April 14th

Happy Friday, everyone! I’m going to make this intro brief. I have an Easter dinner to prepare for, a prototype to build and a playtest event to prepare. It’s going to be a busy weekend. I hope you have a great weekend with whatever your plans may be and let’s kick off the weekend with our favorite Kickstarters of the week:

Petrichor:

As a true Seattlite, I love the rainy, gray weather and for those like me, we can now sit down to a game where we are the rain clouds.  As clouds, we want to be responsible for growing the most crops in gameplay centered around ‘competitive raining’. By carefully paying attention to the current season, players can use 1 of 4 actions, which are Rain, Sun, Wind, and Frost, to manipulate the board in their favor. There are a lot of great creators bringing Petrichor to life including David Chircop (…And Then We Held Hands) and the game includes an engaging solo mode thanks to David Turczi ([redacted]).

Circle The Wagons:

Buttonshy is back with another great campaign featuring the opportunity to support 3 new games. Circle the Wagons is a 2o minute game where players will be placing and overlapping cards in a central space to create a grid of different territories. Players use will score the final combination of territories and the player with the most prosperity wins. In Mint Julep, players will be betting on the ponies by drafting cards, placing their bets and manipulating the race in order to help their chosen horse win! That Snow Moon is a card throwing game that is reminiscent of a certain, familiar space license. Players will throw cards, bluff and attempt to land on and reveal their opponents in a fight between the two forces of Dynasty and Liberation.

Infected:

Now, this is the kind of traitor mechanic game with some urgency! The black death is upon the village and players are one of the villagers trying to survive and protect themselves from the disease. Players will pass cards to each other and look to help their fellow villagers. One of the villagers, however, is secretly the plague doctor, looking to spread the disease to all the villagers. The only hope for the villagers is to survive long enough to reveal the identity of the plague doctor.

Dungeon Digger:

Now for a game more lighthearted, you should check out the wacky fantasy world of Dungeon Digger. The Dungeon Lords are competing to build a winding, treacherous dungeon that is sure to attract the best foes. The Dungeon Lords will even sacrifice their Stooges, their own minions, to destroy the competition and build the best dungeon ever! I love the creative freedom players will have when building their dungeon in the game. Players connect their color-coded tunnels to treasure rooms, heaths, throne rooms, and more.

I hope you enjoyed this list of tabletop games and products that we are currently obsessing over on Kickstarter. If you have a Kickstarter you think we should cover, please let us know in the comments or contact us on Facebook and Twitter. Please consider supporting or sharing these campaigns with friends to help these games meet their goal (or unlock some stretch goals). We’ll be back with another Kickstarter article next week!
